Selling from tour brochures

One of the travel agents most important tools is the tour brochure.  Today we are going to look at the benefits of travelling by coach for your clients and how to provide accurate costings both internationally and for travel within New Zealand. Your familiarisation with your product will help you sell more confidently.  Next week, we will be setting off on our own New Zealand coach tour and we will be able to relate our experiences to our future clients. Hopefully we will survive the early morning starts!!!!!

Passports, visas, customs and health advice

You cannot travel without it! One of the most important things to remember when you travel and to warn your clients about is ensuring their passport is valid and they have the visas required for the countries they are visiting. It is a travel agents reponsibility to advise their customers of the risks of travelling to overseas countries so they must be aware of any health warnings or travel warnings pertaining to their itinerary.

Foreign Exchange and Travel Insurance

Last week and the first days after the holidays we will be looking at the role of selling add-ons such as foreign exchange and travel insurance. These products, which most travellers will purchase prior to departure, will add to the profit of your travel agency and increase your clients satisfaction as you ensure they have all the essential tools for a successful and enjoyable trip. When Jackie visited from Brooker Travel last week she also advised that many consultants have individual commission targets to meet so the more knowledgable you are about all products the more successful you will be. Look at the following video which will reinforce the importance of travel insurance then look at your exercises in wikieducator.

Somewhere to put your head down!

An important part of being a travel agent is being able to recommend and sell different styles of accommodation to your clients. This can range from cabins to 5 star resorts and from staying in treehouses to being underwater. You must gain knowledge on where to access up to date information and how to interpret facilities and calculate rates.
